This year has been a little bit out of the ordinary. That doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the festive season though. One of the best places to enjoy Christmas is in London. Head down the side streets and into places such as Shoreditch for some wonderful indie shops which will provide you with unique presents.

You cant beat the Christmas markets in London for some wonderful handcrafted gifts. Find out when they’re on, grab a steaming cup of mulled wine and enjoy the festivities!

Festive Activities

As well as shopping, our list of Christmas things to do in London 2020 includes getting involved in the city. Glide around the ice on one of the popup ice rinks in the city. You’re guaranteed a spectacular backdrop! Head down the river on a hand-in-hand walk with your loved ones. Take a boat ride down the River Thames and breathe in all the Christmas city life. You could even head round the London Eye to witness the skyline of the city from a unique perspective.

Why not book in to visit Santa at one of his grottos? The kids will love it! Don’t forget to take plenty of family photos so you can look back on their smiling faces! Visit one of the free museums to see what galleries they have open this season. Get tickets for a West End show, or a panto or maybe something slightly different like burlesque. There are loads of pop up events happening around the city with cinemas, cocktail bars and evening entertainment. Sometimes the simplest things like enjoying a pint with friends are the best.

London has so many wonderful cafes, restaurants and street food outlets which will tickle your taste buds. You will find tastes from all around the world, with many traditional festive offerings ready to plate up. There’s nothing quite like a hot chocolate with all the trimmings as you wander through the twinkling streets or make your way down the river. Why not book a table somewhere and enjoy some food by candlelight? Fine food, fab wine and incredible company!
