The Best UK Getaways

We’ve been enjoying staycations more than ever this year. Enjoying some down time away from the same old routine is important for our mental health. Family time to create memories is so deserved and we all need that bit of self care to refocus our minds. Even if we can’t get on an airplane, or don’t think we want to, we can still enjoy a holiday. Where are the best places to visit in our wonderful isles? What are the best UK getaways?

Cornwall

Perhaps the dream coastal destination for many people, Cornwall offers so much to UK holidaymakers. From wonderful beaches and warm seas to amazing cream teas. It can be a long drive down there but the hotels, rental cottages and campsites are fantastic!

Scottish Highlands

Scotland might not be at the top of your UK getaways list but it should be. It has so much to offer, especially up in the Highlands. Stunning views, incredible landscapes, phenomenal roads to drive and amazing people. That’s without even mentioning the Whiskey!

Northumberland

Steeped in history, Northumberland offers so much to explore. Beautiful quiet beaches, 400 square miles of national park and loads of incredible castles! Harry Potter was also filmed at Alnwick Castle. A perfect place to visit for fans of the franchise! Don’t forget to visit Lindisfarne too.

Norfolk

With coastline and countryside a plenty, Norfolk is a wonderful place to visit. Enjoy some family fun on the beaches and see how many types of bird you can spot. See if you can find any of the Royal family near Sandringham and be sure to take a trip on the Norfolk Broads as well.

Fylde Coast

Whether you fancy the bright lights of Blackpool or the quit sands of Lytham St Annes, the Fylde Coast has UK getaways for everyone. Enjoy 13miles of coastline on the Irish sea with Morecambe bay to the north.

North Wales

From the castle in Caernarfon to the mountains of Snowdonia National Park, North Wales is a wonderful place to holiday in. Look out upon spectacular sea views, seek out hidden waterfalls and take in all the history that the area has to offer. Don’t miss out on a trip to Anglesey too!

Yorkshire

With more countryside and walking opportunities than you can shake a stick at, Yorkshire is full of opportunities to get outside. It even has two national parks to enjoy! Explore Viking and Roman history, Norman era castles and medieval abbeys. There is great shopping to enjoy as well if you venture into the cities and towns such as Harrogate.

Sometimes you ned a city break and there are loads of wonderful cities with different things on offer around our wonderful country. From the Industrial Revolution-era landmarks of Birmingham and the cultural centre of Cardiff to the iconic heritage and brown ale of Newcastle, there is a city to explore for everybody!
